Construction Highlights

12/26/98 (Saturday)

Segment 1 (Emidio Pump Station to Copco Road): Report for 26 December 1998: Welders worked on cutting the 8" pipe used to fill the pipe for a previous hydrotest along Copco Road. Welding and lowering in was done just south of the Flying J along Peace Valley Road. Excavation was slow at the Warbler Skip due to difficult saturated soil and continuing water in the ditch. Welders worked on pipe for the skip as well. Excavation, x-ray, and backfill continued on Tejon Bench today. Crews worked on moving and screening soil at the north end of the bench area. Backfill neared completion of their work on Grapevine Road, with skips. The bore under Grapevine Creek continued. Crews welded a test head on to the pipe on the north side of the aqueduct crossing. Backfill was nearly finished along Rock Road. Welders worked on 8" pipe for the hydrotest water discharge along Maricopa Highway, immediately east of Emidio Pump Station. Work occurred at Grapevine Pump Station.
