Construction Highlights
Spread 1
City of Long Beach
Spread 1 work in the City of Long Beach has been completed.
City of Paramount
No Spread 1 work occurred in the City of Paramount during the shift.
City of Bellflower
No work occurred in the City of Bellflower during the shift.
City of Cerritos
A small crew worked on the MTA right-of-way north of Artesia Blvd. to remove the rubble removed during backfilling. The San Gabriel River bore crew checked the alignment and replaced the augers. The 30-inch casing was pushed past 350 feet. The access road was watered during the shift to reduce dust.
City of Artesia
No work occurred in the City of Artesia during the shift.
City of Norwalk
The backfilling crew poured both zero-sack and one-sack slurry south of Alondra Blvd. on Norwalk Blvd. The paving crew worked south of the backfilling crew to end the shift between 160th and Hermosura Street.
Spread 2
Los Angeles County
The crew at the Compton Creek Bridge prepared the casing pipe for the hangers and cleared the path through the concrete banks of the river. The pipelaying and welding crews laid pipe away from the southern valve towards Compton Creek.
City of Long Beach
The crew at the Los Angeles River welded the fittings on the west end of the carrier pipe through the bore. A small crew worked to backfill a section of DeForest Avenue with one-sack slurry now that the electrical conduit has been laid.
City of Paramount
No work occurred in the City of Paramount during the shift.
Watson Station
City of Carson
The crew at the Watson Station continued to work on the electrical connections and the vapor recovery tanks.
Norwalk Station
City of Norwalk
The pipelaying and welding crews continued to work in the Norwalk Station. The small trenching crew continued excavation inside the station. The valve and fittings were tied into the mainline trench and the crew has approximately 100 feet of mainline trench to complete the spread.
