Construction Highlights
Spread 1
City of Long Beach
Spread 1 work in the City of Long Beach has been completed.
City of Paramount
No Spread 1 work occurred in the City of Paramount during the shift.
City of Bellflower
The excavator completed excavation of the trench from the bore receiving pit to the tie-in with the completed mainline trench.
City of Cerritos
The boring crew at the San Gabriel River welded and pushed the carrier pipe through the 30-inch casing pipe. The crew completed pushing most of the pipe during the shift and worked the second shift to complete the welding.
City of Artesia
No work occurred in the City of Artesia during the shift.
City of Norwalk
The paving crew worked north of Lowemont Avenue on Norwalk Blvd., working towards the Norwalk Station. All other crews were off Norwalk Blvd. during the shift.
Spread 2
Los Angeles County
The crew at the Compton Creek Bridge completed the tie-in on the south side of the bridge. Work hasnt started on the tie-in on the north side of the bridge yet.
City of Long Beach
The crew at the Los Angeles River started backfilling over the section of pipe between the 710 Freeway bore and the Los Angeles River bore and the bore pit. The pipelaying and welding crews moved to DeForest Park to start work at the bore receiving pit.
City of Paramount
No work occurred in the City of Paramount during the shift.
Watson Station
City of Carson
The crew at the Watson Station continued to work on the electrical connections and the vapor recovery tanks. The crews also welded the connections on the north side of the station.
Norwalk Station
City of Norwalk
The welding crew completed welding the subterranean pipe in the Norwalk Station. The small crew potholed and backfilled inside the station. The mainline pipelaying and welding has been completed on Spread 1.
Industry Station
City of Walnut
The Industry Station crew installed taps for the measuring of temperature at the valve on the eastern railroad bore. Backfilling continued inside the station and the section across the access road have already been partially backfilled with zero-sack slurry. The crew from the Watson Station will move to the Industry Station to install the motors and pumps.
Colton Station
City of Colton
The crews at the Colton Station continued hand excavation around existing lines and exposed valves to be removed. Several valves and sections of pipe were removed to accommodate the new 16-inch high-pressure system. The welding crew set valves and fabricated fittings for the new line.
