Draft Program Environmental Impact Report (EIR)

On May 2, 2003 a Draft EIR for SCG/SDG&E's "Fiber in Gas" Project A.02-03-062 was published by the CPUC. The Draft EIR can be viewed by clicking on the link in the sidebar on this page.

The 45-day public review period for this document was held between May 2, 2003 and June 15, 2003.

Publication of a Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND)

On November 8, 2002 a Draft IS/MND for SCG/SDG&E’s “Fiber in Gas” Project A.02-03-062 was published by the CPUC. The comment period for the Draft IS/MND ended on December 9, 2002. The Draft IS/MND can be viewed by clicking on the link in the sidebar on this page.

Following circulation and prior to adoption of the IS/MND, the CPUC determined that although potentially significant impacts identified as consequences of the FIG proposal could be reduced to levels of insignificance, the size of the study area and also the conceptual nature of the new service and technology warranted preparation of an EIR.

Notice of Preparation (NOP) of an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration

On September 5, 2002 the CPUC published an NOP for SCG/SDG&E’s “Fiber in Gas” Project A.02-03-062. In order to ensure the IS/MND addressed all appropriate environmental concerns, the NOP was intended to seek all relevant comments pertaining to the scope of analysis in the IS/MND. The comment period for the NOP ended on October 4, 2002. Note that the State Clearinghouse number for this application is SCH# 2002091025.
