CPUC approves one resolution for a grant amount of $27,629,599 .

  • Race Telecommunications Gigafy Phelan Project - Approves funding up to the amount of $27,629,599 for the Race Gigafy Phelan Project. The Gigafy Phelan Project will install a fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) system to CASF “priority areas” in the underserved communities in and around Phelan in San Bernardino County. CPUC approves one resolution for a grant amount of $1,076,062.

  • LCB Communications Light Saber Broadband Project - Approves funding in the amount of $1,076,062 for the Light Saber Project that consists of approximately 17 miles of fiber optic cable and will offer fiber-to-the-premise to 150 underserved households in the Paradise Valley community, a portion of the rural unincorporated area of Santa Clara County. CPUC approves one resolution for a grant amount of $511,170 and releases grant funding for one previously approved project in the amount of $16,156,353 in CASF grant funds and a CASF loan of $500,000.

  • CalNeva Coalinga Huron Project - Approves funding in the amount of $511,170 for the grant application of CalNeva Broadband, LLC (CalNeva) to install a hybrid fiber/coaxial cable system in the communities of Coalinga and Huron in western Fresno County. Resolution T-17563
  • Bright Fiber Network, Inc. Bright Fiber Broadband Project - Approves a categorical exemption prepared in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act for the Bright Fiber Project, which will extend high-speed Internet service to approximately 21 square miles and 1941 households in underserved Nevada County communities, generally between the outskirts of Grass Valley and Colfax. CPUC approves one resolution for a grant amount of $46,709,036.

  • Inyo Networks Digital 299 -Approves funding in the amount of $46,709,036 for the grant application of Inyo Networks, Inc. (Inyo) to construct the Digital 299 Broadband Project (Digital 299), which includes both middle-mile and last-mile facilities. The proposed project will provide high-capacity backhaul infrastructure and interconnection points to communities along the California State Route 299 (Highway 299) corridor. Resolution T-17548.

CPUC approves additional funding in the amount of up to $428,220.

  • UIA Helendale - Approves additional funding of up to $428,220 to Ultimate Internet Access, Inc., (UIA) in order for UIA to pay prevailing wage labor construction rates, mainly retroactively for work already completed, as mandated by the passage of Assembly Bill 2272 (AB 2272), for its Helendale Project. Resolution T-17557.

CPUC approves two resolutions for a combined grant and loan amount of $7,253,309 and releases grant funding for one previously approved project in the amount of $1,027,380.

  • Cal.net Tuolumne and Mariposa Project - Approves funding to provide broadband Internet and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony services to underserved rural communities of the Tuolumne and Mariposa Counties. Resolution T-17502.
  • Siskiyou Telephone, Inc. Happy Camp to Somes Bar Fiber Connectivity Project - Approves funding to build a 16.75 mile-long middle-mile fiber link from Happy Camp to Somes Bar and also construct last-mile connections to 10 unserved households in Siskiyou County. Resolution T-17539.
  • Ponderosa Telephone Company Cressman Project Approves a categorical exemption prepared in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act for the Cressman Unserved and Underserved Broadband Project, initially approved in Resolution T-17428 (April 10, 2014) to construct Cressman Project. Resolution T-17551.

  CPUC releases CASF Grant Awards and approves one resolution for a grant amount of $7,687,016.

  • Race Telecommunications - Approves funding for the Gigafy Occidental Project in the amount of $7,687,016 for the deployment of a last-mile fiber network that is spread over a 4.2 square mile area in Occidental, located in Sonoma County. Resolution T-17524.

  CPUC approves two resolutions for a combined grant amount of $3,555,045.  

  • The Nicasio Inyo Networks Project - Conditionally approves the funding in the amount of $1,491,078 to Inyo Networks to construct a Fiber-to-the-Premises last-mile network that will cover 8 square miles in the underserved Nicasio area of Western Marin County. Resolution T-17523.

  • Race Telecommunications Gigafy Mono Project, extending high-speed broadband to approximately 399 households in the underserved communities of South Chalfant, Benton, Benton Hot Springs , Swall Meadows, and Mono City in Mono County.

CPUC approves two resolutions for a grant amount of $3,177,476.  

  • Race Telecommunications Five Mining Communities Project, extending high-speed broadband service to approximately 202 households in the underserved communities of Randsburg and Johannesburg in Kern County and Red Mountain in San Bernardino County.
  • Cal.net, Inc. El Dorado North Project, extending high-speed broadband service to approximately 1,537 households in Quintette, Buckeye, Volcanoville, Fornis, Greenwood, Meadow Brook, and Garden Valley in the northern regions of El Dorado County.

  • Ultimate Internet Access, Inc., Wrightwood Project, extending high-speed internet service to approximately 1,857 households spread over 3.2 square miles in and adjoining the underserved community of Wrightwood, which straddles the border between San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties. Resolution T-17475.

CPUC approves two resolutions for projects designed to extend high-speed internet service into underserved rural and tribal communities.

The CPUC approves three matching grants that will improve internet accessibility in underserved areas in northern California's Shasta County, the central California Sierras, and along part of the southeastern California-Arizona border.  

  • The Happy Valley Telephone Company will extend high-speed internet service in Olinda, Anderson, and other unincorporated areas of Shasta County. A 60% matching grant has been rewarded to help fund the Olinda Project. Resolution T-17411.  
  • The Winterhaven Telephone Company project will cover the Winterhaven Community and other areas on unincorporated Imperial County, including the Quechan Indian Reservation, thanks to a $2,064,967 CASF grant. Resolution T-17410.  
  • Foresthill Telephone Company’s Big Dipper Project. A grant of $117,000 will help extend high-speed internet service to the Placer County community of Iowa Hill. Resolution T-17409
