Michael Colvin, Energy and Safety Advisor

Michael Colvin is Commissioner Sandoval’s Energy and Safety advisor. Michael first joined the CPUC in 2008, and in that time has worked on a variety of issues including Greenhouse Gas policy, Qualifying Facilities, Electric Energy Storage, Energy Efficiency, Risk Assessment, General Rate Cases, Cost of Capital  and utility safety matters. He was an advisor to former Commissioner Ferron for three years, and has spent the last two years in Safety and Enforcement. Michael holds both a B.S. in Environmental Economics and a Master in Public Policy, both from University of California Berkeley.
