Payphone Service Providers Committee (PSPC)

Pursuant to a settlement agreement approved by D.90-06-018, the Payphone Service Providers Committee (PSPC) was established to ensure that payphone consumer safeguards including signage requirements, rate caps for intraLocal Access and Transport Area (intraLATA), interLocal Access and Transport Area (interLATA), free access and directory assistance calls within California.   The PSPC also acts in an advisory capacity to the Public Policy Payphone Program which provides payphones to the general public in the interest of public health, safety, and welfare at no charge at locations where there would otherwise not be a payphone
