The CPUC’s decision ordering the 714/657 overlay required telephone companies that provide local service in the 714 to implement and fund a public education program to ensure that all members of the affected public will be fully informed of the changes that need to be made to dialing patterns and to telecommunications equipment by August 23, 2008.
