October 19, 2012 10am: Demand Side Cost-effectiveness Workshop Four: Issues Specific to Demand Response

 

The Energy Division has scheduled a workshop on October 19, 2012 (10am-4:30pm) to discuss the cost-effectiveness framework as it relates to demand response resources.  In Ordering Paragraph (OP) 7 of Decision 12-04-045, Commission Staff were directed to hold one or more workshops to address deficiencies identified in the 2010 Demand Response Cost-Effectiveness Protocols.  The purpose of the scheduled workshop is to discuss the topics identified in the schedule below to determine if, and how, the Demand Response Cost-Effectiveness Protocols should be modified to better assess the costs and benefits of demand response programs.

September 18, 2012 9:30 am:  Workshop on the Utilities' Proposed Statewide Permanent Load Shifting (PLS) Program

The 2012-2014 Statewide Permanent Load Shifting Program Proposal (PLS Proposal) and updated cost-effectiveness analyses were jointly submitted by PG&E, SDG&E and SCE (the Utilities) to Energy Division in compliance with Ordering Paragraph (OP.) 62 of D.12-04-045.  OP 63 of the same decision directs Commission staff to seek feedback from interested parties and to facilitate a consensus process on the Utilities' PLS Proposal.

The Energy Division has scheduled a workshop on September 18, 2012 (9:30 am start time) at the CPUC to seek feedback on the Utilities' PLS Proposal.  To help frame the agenda for the workshop, interested parties were invited to provide pre-workshop comments on the Utilities' PLS Proposal.  Pre-workshop comments should focus on the program design elements proposed by the Utilities.  Parties should identify gaps in the proposal, provide suggestions for alternative design and discuss issues with cost-effectiveness approach.  Interested parties may submit pre-workshop comments by September 7, 2012,  All pre-workshop comments will be posted by Commission staff via the link below.

July 25-26, 2012:  Demand Response Workshop on Baseline Evaluation and Load Impact Evaluation
