The California Public Utilities Commission is holding its fifth Annual Diversity Hearing focusing on key areas relevant to diversity in the utilities' procurement practices and related areas. The hearing will introduce the California Aspire Achieve Lead (CaAAL) Pipeline Project and will assess the status of diversity and identify areas for improvement.
The hearing will direct attention to methods and solutions for increasing utility contracting with minority, women, and disabled veteran-owned businesses. The hearing will include a panel related to disabled veteran-owned businesses and the challenges they face. The hearing will also assess the status of the utilities’ programs and identify areas for improvement. The Commission will use insight gained from the hearing to evaluate additional measures to enhance the utilities’ efforts in these areas.
