Jamie Ormond is the Legal and Water Advisor to Commissioner Catherine J. K. Sandoval at the California Public Utilities Commission in San Francisco. She also advises on a smattering of Energy issues including Interconnection, Distribution Resource Planning, GHG and Smart Grid issues. Just prior, Ms. Ormond was the lead analyst on the Electric Tariff Rule 21 interconnection proceeding as a member of the CPUC’s Energy Division.
Ms. Ormond earned her J.D. at Santa Clara University School of Law. There, she competed in the national environmental law moot court competition at Pace Law School and she initiated the first annual environmental law symposium.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Ormond lived in Los Angeles and travelled around Southeast Asia, where she learned that renewable energy businesses make financial and environmental sense. A native of Detroit, Ms. Ormond graduated from McGill University in Montreal with a degree in international political economy. Ms. Ormond enjoys the outdoors and her love of hiking and camping has made her keen about ensuring that there is clean air and wilderness for future generations.
