April 1, 2004:
Civil Case - The PUC issued I.04-04-001 instituting an investigation and Order to Show Cause why Ford Moving and Storage's application should not be denied with prejudence. A Preliminary Injunction was granted on September 12, 2003.
January 22, 2004:
Criminal Case - In the LA Superior Court on Case Number 3CRO2645, a Plea Agreement was reached by defendant, Ronen Perez. He plead No Contest to more than 22 counts of violating PUC rules and regulations. He was sentenced to 90 consecutive days in jail or 60 days of community service with CALTRANS. His sentence was suspended, he received 36 months summary probation, was required to present himself for booking on February 23, 2004, required to show proof of enrollment with CALTRANS on February 23, 2004, required to pay $2,000 to the PUC for investigative costs (payment date to be determined at a later date), and pay $100 to the Victims of Violent Crimes Fund by July 22, 2004. Ronen Perez is also required to pay restitution to the victims that are a party to the misdemenaor complaint filed by the city attorney. He is barred from operating as a household goods service carrier and/or working for any other household goods service carriers.
