Jennifer Kalafut joined the CPUC as an analyst in the Energy Division in 2010. She has worked on energy procurement, including programs for Combined Heat and Power resources, analysis of greenhouse gas emissions, the California Cap and Trade program and, most recently, energy efficiency. Prior to joining the CPUC, Jen was the Co-Director at the International Accountability Project, a San Francisco-based organization that advocates for the environmental and human rights of communities in the Global South. Before moving to the Bay Area, Jen spent several years working on international development policy in Washington, D.C. and from the Slovak Republic where she conducted research on development and the environment. She holds a Masters of Public Administration from Rutgers University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois. Jen is originally from Chicago, IL.
