Energy Advisor to Commissioner Bohn
Robert Kinosian is the energy advisor to Commissioner Bohn. Mr. Kinosian brings over 24 years of experience in the energy sector to his current position.
Mr. Kinosian joined the staff of the California Public Utilities Commission in May 1984, serving in the consumer advocates group, where he worked on numerous resource planning and rate issues. Mr. Kinosian’s work focused on developing policies to promote the development of renewable and combined heat and energy projects and increasing funding for energy efficiency programs.
In 2001, Mr. Kinosian went to work for the President of the Commission to assist with issues on the energy crisis, working on a variety of energy, telecommunication and water issues including renegotiation of the DWR power contracts, reinstituting resource planning and procurement proceedings at the CPUC and negotiating a resolution to PG&E's bankruptcy.
In 2004, Mr. Kinosian returned to the Division of Ratepayer Advocates at the CPUC where he served as the Division's policy advisor on energy, telecommunications and water issues. In addition, he was vice president and a board member of the Pacific Forest and Land Watershed Stewardship Council, a non-profit corporation with over $80 million in assets.
Mr. Kinosian received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1983, graduating with honors, and is a licensed mechanical engineer in the State of California.
