Ms. Whang has more than 10 years of experience as an attorney working on regulatory utility matters, primarily in the telecommunications field. Most recently, she was a staff attorney at the CPUC, where she has focused on state and federal telecommunications matters. From 1999 to 2006, Ms. Whang was an associate at the law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP in San Francisco, where she represented clients before the CPUC and the Federal Communications Commission on telecommunications matters and advised them on various state and federal telecommunications issues. Prior to joining Davis Wright Tremaine, Ms. Whang worked in Washington D.C., serving for two years as an attorney-advisor at the Federal Communications Commission where she worked on universal service issues. Prior to that, she worked for three and a half years as a staff attorney at the Federal Election Commission. Ms. Whang received her JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C. and her BA degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
