• April 14, 2011: Commissioner Timothy Alan Simon stated "This is a great day. The action by the Missouri PSC was a direct result of the efforts of California in advancing GO156 and sharing our strategies through the NARUC Utility Marketplace  Access Subcommittee.   We expect to see other states adopt similar measures."

• Commissioner Simon conducted a post-firestorm workshop in San Diego on January 9, 2008 to review communication issues and challenges posed by the October 2007 firestorms in San Diego County. He held a similar firestorm communications meeting in San Bernardino County on June 20, 2008.  Both meetings were well attended by service providers, alerting equipment vendors, first responders and other interested persons.
