The Public Advisor's Office circulates written informal comments it receives to the offices of all the CPUC Commissioners. If the matter pertains to an open CPUC proceeding, then Public Advisor's Office also circulates the comments to the Administrative Law Judge assigned to the proceeding.
Mass mailing campaigns may generate thousands of letters or emails, and often individuals send us the same letter several times. Due to the volume, we do not individually reply to these types of communications. We may issue press releases or post information on our website to address such topics. However, we provide to the appropriate decision-makers the number of such contacts we receive, along with a sample of the form letter or email. We screen for and delete duplicates of communications from the same individual to ensure accuracy.
