The Commission's News and Public Information Office is dedicated to providing information to the news media and the public in a prompt and comprehensive manner. Because of the Commission's many pioneering and innovative programs, reporters and consumers from throughout the United States and other nations seek out information about PUC activities and policy. Staff includes the Commission's spokesperson, Information Officers, and graphic designers.
The office prepares news releases, consumer advisories, brochures, and other informational pieces, arranges interviews with Commissioners, Directors, and staff experts, and conducts press conferences. The office also oversees the Commission's website. Its e-mail address is news@cpuc.ca.gov.
