Upcoming Public Participation Hearings

Public Participation Hearings regarding the Application of California Water Service Company for approval to increase rates for water service by $92,765,000 or 19.4 percent in 2014; by $17,240,000 or 3 percent on January 1, 2015; and by $16,950,000 or 2.9 percent on January 1, 2016, in accordance with the Rate Case Plan (A.12-07-007). Prior Public Participation Hearings

February 21, 2013, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. AND 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.: As part of its investigation (I.12-10-013) into the extended outages of Units 2 and 3 at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), the CPUC will hold two Public Participation Hearings focused on Southern California Edison’s (SCE) operational and financial response to the SONGS outages. The Hearings will take place at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave., Costa Mesa.

 

 

Public Participation Hearings on Cal-Am/Water Supply Project

 

Public Participation Hearings regarding the Application of California-American Water Company for approval of the Monterey Peninsula Water Supply Project and Authorization to Recover All Present and Future Costs in Rates (A.12-04-019) will take place as follows:

 

January 9, 2013, 2 p.m. AND 7 p.m.

While a quorum of Commissioners may be present, no voting will occur.  If you require special accommodations, please notify Mary Evans at 415-703-2074 or at public.advisor@cpuc.ca.gov at least 3 – 5 business days before the hearings.

 

 

Public Meetings on 415 Area Code

The 415 area code is expected to use up all the available prefixes by October 2015. To ensure that new numbers are available for customers and technology expansion, the CPUC has begun the process to introduce a new area code to the geography now served by the 415. The new area code added to the 415 will be 628.

There will be one Local Jurisdiction Meeting and two Public Meetings, as follows:

Jan. 26, 2012: A Public Participation Hearing regarding recent Southern California Edison power outages following a severe windstorm was held in Temple City.

Jan. 24, 2012: A hearing regarding San Diego Gas and Electric’s request for CPUC approval for the East County Substation Project was held in Jacumba.

November/December 2011: Hearings were held on proposed rate increases for customer of Golden State Water Company in Rancho Cordova, Bay Point, Clearlake, Los Osos, Carson, Claremont, Barstow, and Apple Valley.

October 2011: SDG&E and SoCalGas Rates. Hearings were held in San Diego, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Oceanside, Culver City, Van Nuys, Gardena, and Palmdale.
