On Sept. 12, 2008, the California Energy Commission and the California Public Utilities Commission today released their proposed opinion on strategies to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet Assembly Bill 32 goals. The Proposed Final Opinion on Greenhouse Gas Regulatory Strategies, prepared jointly by CPUC President Michael R. Peevey and California Energy Commission Chairman Jackalyne Pfannenstiel and Commissioner Jeffrey Byron, provides recommendations and outlines a variety of options for the California Air Resources Board to consider in deciding how to design a program to achieve the greenhouse gas emission targets in the electricity sector.
