Internships in the Energy Division


The California Public Utilities Commission's Energy Division will host up to eight graduate or upper-division undergraduate interns this summer.  Under the guidance of senior analyst and engineers, paid interns will be given the opportunity to lead a small project or initiative relating to emerging energy issues in California.  In addition to their specific job duties, all interns will be invited to learn about diverse policy issues and to participate broadly in Energy Division activities by attending meetings, workshops, and Commission Business Meetings.  The positions are as follows:

  • Energy Regulatory Analysis (up to two interns)
  • Reliability Modeling for Storage and Demand Response
  • Resource Adequacy Reporting
  • Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan Intern
  • Local Avoided Cost Research
  • Energy Efficiency Reporting Systems Development
  • Smart Grid Engineering Analysis
