The California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) today adopted a policy statement on Greenhouse Gas Performance Standards in order to take a hard look at emissions from conventional fossil-fuel resources, stating that if energy procurement is allowed to shift to conventional resources that do not employ effective technologies for controlling emissions, reductions achieved through the state's current programs would be lost.
