On Jan. 3, 2011, the CPUC received a series of Safety Recommendations from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) following the Sept. 9, 2010, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) pipeline explosion in San Bruno.
The CPUC’s Executive Director sent a letter to PG&E directing the company to undertake the actions recommended by the NTSB.
The CPUC also sent a letter to the state’s other natural gas pipeline operators - Southern California Gas Company, San Diego Gas & Electric Company, and Southwest Gas Corporation – directing the companies to report to the CPUC’s Executive Director the steps they are taking in response to the NTSB’s recommendations.
