promotes broadband service in unserved areas of California to bridge the Digital Divide

On September 6, 2007, the PUC took action to save telephone consumers over $300 million a year by decreasing the California High Cost Fund–B (CHCF-B) and better targeting the subsidy in truly high cost, hard-to-serve areas. Read more in our

In October the PUC
issued a report to the Legislature
on High Cost Fund B
June 29, 2007: PUC
issued a Rulemaking
to review the California High Cost Fund-B (
R.06-06-028
).
August 24, 2006: PUC issued the
Uniform Regulatory Framework (URF)
decision, which changed some aspects of regulation and impacted some of the issues in the B-fund rulemaking.
