Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of a Legal Support Supervisor II, the incumbent performs the full range of legal secretarial work. Incumbent types legal correspondence, formats and prepares form letters; proofreads, completes legal notices from marginal notes; files and serves legal pleadings, answers telephone calls and routes to appropriate staff for further assistance; photocopying and scanning of documents. In addition, incumbent serves as primary timekeeper for 85+ staff.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively, work independently, be able to organize and prioritize assignments, work under pressure, use sound judgment and exercise a high degree of confidentiality, independence and initiative in performing a variety of tasks. The incumbent must have the ability to follow written/verbal instructions; ability to handle multiple assignments, knowledge of legal terms, legal forms, documents and processing with different agencies and courts. In addition, applicant must display discretion, tact, poise and be diplomatic with the public and staff. Incumbent must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Document Management System (DMS); Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Work Tracking System (WTS), Case Information System (CIS) and proficiency in Power-Point is desirable.
