The Transportation Enforcement Branch, License Section of the Consumer Protection and Safety Division anticipates filling one position. The License Section issues permits and certificates to passenger stage corporations, charter-party carriers of passengers, and household goods carriers. The License Section also registers interstate carriers of household goods and passenger domiciled in other states.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of a Senior Transportation Representative, and the guidance of Program Technicians III and Office Technicians, incumbent is responsible for maintaining, retrieving, and re-filing the files of active passenger carriers, household goods carriers, private carriers, and vessel and air carriers, and for recording the locations of individual files. Incumbent also preserves and retrieves revoked, expired, and denied files, and implements the License Section’s Records Disposal Program by annually tendering for destruction all such records revoked, expired, or denied for more than three years. Also processes and routes License Section mail and faxes. In performing these duties, the incumbent must also retrieve information from TMIS, the Oracle database of License Section records. The Office Assistant must be familiar with the functions performed by each operating unit and specific activities of individual personnel.
