California Alternative Rates for Energy - Customers whose total household income falls within the following limits can enroll in CARE to receive a 20 percent discount on their energy bills and are excluded from the increases approved in 2001 for PG&E, Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas and Electric Company (these are the income limits in effect through May 2008, they may change every year, so ask your utility for the new limits or look them up on the CPUC website under the Consumer Information Section):
