Detailed Construction Requirements For Supply Lines
(Class H, L and T Circuits)
57.8 Bonding and Grounding.
Longitudinal runs of supply
circuits in cable (including tree wire in ring construction) shall be such that
under the maximum loading conditions the tension in the messenger shall not
exceed values of safe working tensions given in Rule 49.7-B, Table 8.
The messenger shall be grounded at both ends and at intermediate points
not exceeding 800 feet apart. Where the cable is enclosed in a metal sheath
or armor, each section is enclosed in a metal sheath shall be permanently bonded
to the messenger at not less than two locations.
