Small Business Liaison

As mandated under Senate Bill 1436, the Small-Business Liaison serves the small-business community within the state of California by developing and implementing dynamic, innovative, and effective projects and programs designed to improve and expand the CPUC’s efforts in serving its small business constituents.

The main goal of the Liaison is to promote small business’ ability to grow, be economically viable, and be successfully competitive within California’s diverse market. By identifying the key issues related to utility services, rates and policies that affect small businesses, the Liaison is able to directly assist small businesses with utility-related issues. To maintain successful solutions, the Liaison works to inform the CPUC of industry trends and practices, and advises on how the CPUC might change its practices and policies to support small businesses.
