Equipment Program Advisory Committee (EPAC)

The EPAC, an advisory committee of the Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program, serves in an advisory capacity to the Telecommunications Access for the Deaf and Disabled Administrative Committee (TADDAC) in connection with equipment programs mandated by Section 2881 of the Public Utilities Code for providing telecommunications access for persons with functional limitations of hearing, vision, movement, manipulation, speech, cognition, and interpretation of information, and to recommend and update, as new technology is developed, a standard equipment list for the programs, to develop procedures for evaluating new products, and to make recommendations for policy changes with respect to the quality of both equipment distribution and service provision.
