Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) GRC Proceedings (Phase I)

A.18-12-009  Test Year 2020 Docket

PG&E had requested a rate increase in its General Rate Case application (A18-12-009) for 2020, 2021 and 2022.  Under their proposal, base rates would increase by $1,058 million or 12.4% for 2020 with subsequent increase of $454 million and $486 million for 2021 and 2022.  Base rates are fixed costs that are not affected by fluctuations in the amount of energy sales.  Specifically, PG&E requests 2020 revenue increases of $134 million or 6.8% for its gas distribution expenses, $749 million or 17.2% for its electric distribution expenses, and $175 million or 8.0% for its electric generation expenses.  PG&E's revenue for 2019 is $8.518 million.  A proposed decision on the application is expected in January - March 2020.  Please see the docket for additional information.
