The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold Evidentiary Hearings (EHs) regarding San Gabriel Valley Water Company’s (San Gabriel) request to increase rates for their General Rate Case (GRC) Application. The EHs will begin at 10:00 am on the dates and locations listed above. The EHs may finish before the last scheduled date if it is not necessary to use all the dates scheduled. Any changes to the dates, times and locations of the hearings will be posted to the CPUC’s Daily Calendar.

On January 2, 2019, San Gabriel filed a GRC requesting revenue increases in its Fontana Water Company Division of $9,626,900 (or 14.0%) in July 2020, $4,979,800 (or by 6.2%) in July 2021 and $3,054,100 (or 3.6%) in July 2022.

On January 2, 2019, San Gabriel filed a GRC requesting revenue increases in its Los Angeles County Division of $4,099,800 (or 5.5%) in July 2020, $6,594,500 (or 8.4%) in July 2021, and $3,927,000 (or 4.6%) in July 2022.

At these EHs the assigned Judge will receive the testimony of San Gabriel, consumer advocacy groups, and all other parties to this proceeding. These hearings are open to the public but only those who are parties to the proceeding may present evidence, testimony, and be subject to cross-examination. The hearings and documents submitted during this proceeding will become part of the formal record that the Judge relies upon in writing a proposed decision to present to the Commissioners for their consideration.

After considering all proposals and evidence presented during the formal hearing process, the assigned Judge will issue a proposed decision that may adopt San Gabriel’s application as proposed, modify it, or deny it. Any CPUC Commissioner may sponsor an alternate decision. The proposed decision, and any alternate decisions, will be discussed and voted upon at a scheduled CPUC Voting Meeting.

Documents related to the proceeding are available at: https://apps.cpuc.ca.gov/apex/f?p=401:56:0::NO:RP,57,RIR:P5_PROCEEDING_SELECT:A1901001
