Kerriann Sheppard-Johnson is from the beautiful island of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. She completed her undergraduate education at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and majored in Government with a concentration in Pre-Law and minored in Business Administration. She then went on to attend law school at The University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento California and graduated in 2009. Kerriann was admitted to the California State Bar in 2009.  Kerriann also obtained a Masters Degree from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona with a concentration in Business Marketing in 2012. She has practiced tax law, employment law, civil and criminal law prior to working at the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). She began working in the CPUC’s Star Unit in 2014 and joined the Legal Division in June of 2014 as an advocacy attorney. Kerriann then became an advisory attorney in the Legal Division in 2018 and has advised on legal matters in telecommunications, water, transportation, and energy.

Kerriann has been married for almost nine years to her husband Dominque Johnson. They have a beautiful four-year old daughter named Karri and has another baby on the way as Kerriann is now 3 months pregnant and is due on February 5, 2024.

Kerriann enjoys playing basketball and has a non profit organization on St. Croix US Virgin Islands called “Choices Basketball Association”, which helps the youth to obtain scholarships through sports to pursue higher learning. In her spare time, Kerriann also enjoys writing poetry and traveling.
