Vira Eison serves as Administrative Assistant to Commissioner Houck.
 
Vira Eison is an experienced administrative professional who knows the value of building solid team partnerships.  She has invested her career in achieving this goal, supporting senior executives at companies and organizations to include Nike, Inc., Intel, Morgan Stanley, UC Davis and for state agencies to include California Department of Technology (CDT) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB).  Vira strongly believes in being accountable, which to her means taking control of your success, managing your workload, your career and your relationship with your Executive and colleagues.  She is drawn to this new role because it speaks to these traits.
 
Vira has an associate in liberal arts and attended the California Arts Institute - Culinary Management, once operating her own catering business for a short time and working as Food Manager/Chef at Camp Concord Family Resort in South Lake Tahoe. Factoid: Auditioned for and made short list for MasterChef® Season 6!

Currently residing in San Francisco, California where she is a native, Vira enjoys cooking and entertaining, and traveling to remote areas of the globe.  She frequently visits her 2 daughters who live abroad in France and Japan, and has 1 grandson, Naoki, who is her joy.
