Cristina Lizarraga joined the CPUC in 2025 as a Policy Assistant. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies from the University of California at Berkeley, where she studied public policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy. She went on to earn a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she served as an advocate at the Children’s Advocacy Institute, and in government service at the Family Law Facilitator’s Office. She continued work in the public sector at the Sacramento County Counsel’s Office, and at the Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller’s Office, assisting the Board of County Commissioners and supporting the Commission on Ethics and Finance Committee. Cristina also worked as a consultant for hospitals, helping health systems gain access to necessary and more affordable medications for their patients.
