Jason Symonds

Jason Symonds joined the CPUC in 2019, working in the Energy Division on proceedings that oversee a no-cost weatherization program (Energy Savings Assistance) and electric/gas bill discount programs (California Alternate Rates for Energy and Family Electric Rate Assistance) for income-qualified Californians. Prior to joining the Commission, he worked as a Senior Consultant at DNV-Energy, managing evaluations of energy efficiency programs to quantify energy and non-energy impacts. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science and Political Science from the University of Maryland, and has a Master’s in Environmental Management from Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment. In his free time he enjoys tossing frisbee with his dog, hosting large family BBQs, and travelling to destinations outside his comfort zone.
