ABOUT THE APPLICATION
On November 1, 2021, Volcano submitted its General Rate Case application requesting CPUC approval to update its revenue requirement for 2023 and review its rates and other intrastate funding sources to develop a rate design to reflect a rate-of-return of 9.22% on its investments. Volcano’s application also includes a request to review the California High Cost Fund-A (CHCF-A) amounts that the company receives. According to Volcano, the company seeks to provide its customers with increased access to broadband, and is prepared to make more than $22 million in additional investments in network upgrades from 2021 through 2023 with a goal of extending fiber to more residential and business locations.
