A Discussion of CPUC Rail Safety Oversight, Accident Investigations, Trespassing, and Public Safety
Please join the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:30 A.M. for an informational webinar on rail safety and other rail-related topics.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Local government representatives and elected officials who have rail lines in their jurisdictions and community-based organizations who work in communities adjacent to rail infrastructure will benefit from hearing from Roger Clugston, CPUC Rail Safety Division Director.
TOPICS THAT WILL BE COVERED
We will provide an overview of the CPUC’s role in rail safety, as well as dive into specific topics, like:
- Rail Crossing Funding Programs (Sections 130 and 190, Maintenance Fund)
- Rail Accidents
- Trespassing Issues
- Maintenance Near Rail Lines
- Community Development Around Rail
The Q&A sessions will provide attendees with an opportunity to share their opinions and ask questions on the issues discussed.
