Public Workshops on California Advanced Services Fund

The California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) promotes broadband adoption and infrastructure deployment in unserved areas with a goal of providing broadband access to no less than 98 percent of California households.

The California Public Utilities Commission, as part of its implementation of Assembly Bill (AB) 1665, holds annual public workshops to facilitate collaboration among regional consortia, stakeholders, local governments, existing facility-based broadband providers, and consumers regarding cost-effective strategies to reach unserved areas.

Upcoming Workshops

Commissioner Martha Guzman Aceves and staff from the California Public Utilities Commission invite you to their annual California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) workshop. This workshop is a change for the Commission to consult with regional consortia, stakeholders, local governments, the federal government, existing facility-based broadband providers, and consumers regarding unserved areas of the state and cost-effective strategies for expanding access to broadband.

Past Workshops

  • POSTPONED: Wednesday, March 25, 2020

Please take notice that due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) public health emergency and in response to some stakeholders’ request, the California Public Utilities Commission (Commission) has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) workshop, scheduled for March 25. After careful consideration of various online options and the health of our colleagues and our community, we determined that the best course of action to provide an effective workshop is to postpone it until a later date. Please stay tuned to the CASF Distribution List for updates.

In addition, staff intends to utilize the Commission's procedures to extend the deadline for CASF infrastructure applications to May 4, 2020.

If you have questions or need further information, contact James Tang, james.tang@cpuc.gov or Louise Fischer, louise.fischer@cpuc.ca.gov.

While a quorum of Commissioners and/or their staff may attend, no official action will be taken.
