November 26, 2019 -

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold a Residential Electric Rate Summit to hear from utilities about their transition, plans, and outreach efforts for residential time-of-use rates.

WHAT: CPUC Residential Electric Rate Summit

WHEN: Friday, December 13, 2019, 10:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

WHERE: CPUC Auditorium, 505 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco, CA 94102; also available via webcast at www.adminmonitor.com/ca/cpuc

See the agenda below.

BACKGROUND

The CPUC opened proceeding R.12-06-013 to examine core principles of electric rate design, California’s rate structures, and recommendations for future modifications to California rates. In July 2015, the CPUC issued D.15-07-001, which adopted several significant residential rate reform measures and established steps to transition California’s default residential rate structure from tiered, non-time-varying rates to time-of-use rates starting in 2019.

There will be an opportunity for public comments at the workshop.

While a quorum of Commissioners and/or their staff may attend, no official action will be taken on this matter at the summit.
