January 29, 2021 -

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold a remote access (virtual) two-day workshop to foster ideas and explore opportunities to address principles of environmental and social justice in CPUC policies and activities.

WHAT: CPUC Environmental and Social Justice Action Plan - 2021 Update Workshop

WHEN: February 3 and 4, 2021, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

WHERE: Remote access via WebEx, webcast, or conference line. Participation information is below.

BACKGROUND:

In February 2019, the CPUC adopted an Environmental and Social Justice (ESJ) Action Plan to serve as a roadmap to expand public inclusion in CPUC decision-making and improve services to targeted communities across California. The ESJ Action Plan establishes a series of equity goals related to health and safety, consumer protection, program benefits, and enforcement in all the sectors the CPUC regulates. The purpose of this workshop is to have interactive discussions to generate ideas and potential action items for possible incorporation into an update of the ESJ Action Plan. Topics covered during the workshop will include an overview of the ESJ Action Plan; understanding definitions and terms related to ESJ communities in CPUC programs and policies; ESJ considerations in CPUC industry Division work; data collection; and more. Additional information is available at www.cpuc.ca.gov/esjactionplan.
