Small Business Expos
The CPUC conducts small business expos throughout the state to promote procurement opportunities and educate businesses on important topics such as how to do business with state agency, utility, and other entity. The purpose of the expos is to:
- Help connect small and diverse businesses to utility, government, and other entity procurement specialists.
- Educate small and diverse businesses on the benefits of becoming certified as a small, women, minority, disabled veteran, LGBT, and/or persons with disabilities business.
- Enlighten small and diverse businesses of utilities and other entities' best business practices and “how to get in the door.”
- Inform small and diverse businesses of utility, government, and other entity contract opportunities.
- Provide networking with other business owners.

The CPUC Small and Diverse Business Expo is a free event that connects small and diverse businesses with representatives from utilities, public agencies, chambers of commerce, prime contractors, and community choice aggregators. Attendees can speak directly with industry representatives at exhibitor booths, learn about certification requirements, and discover upcoming contracting opportunities with organizations such as SoCal Gas, AT&T, Southern California Edison, and T-Mobile.
