Customer Information Systems

On June 27, 2017 Energy Division hosted a workshop on the topic of major system upgrades for customer billing systems since such upgrades are presently being proposed in SCE's General Rate Case and SDG&E's application to replace its system.  SCE and SDG&E made presentations, followed by a PG&E presentation.  This was followed by a panel discussion.  See below for links to the Workshop Announcement, the Workshop Agenda, and the presentations by:

Rate Case Plan (RCP) Decision (D.)20-01-002 Workshops

On January 22, 2020 the Commission issued D.20-01-002 to modify the Rate Case Plan for the energy utilities.  In addition to changing the General rate case (GRC) cycle from three-year to four-year, D.20-01-002 ordered Energy Division to facilitate a series of workshops to explore and develop proposals to increase the efficiency of GRC proceedings.

Energy Division hosted a workshop to explore the possible use of stipulated terms and rebuttable presumptions to reduce litigated issues, and improving the accuracy of attrition year forecasting, escalation factors, and ratemaking.  Workshop Agenda, report, and presentations are provided in the links below:

Uniformity in Results of Operations (RO) Model

Energy Division hosted the third in a series of workshops to explore standarizing the organization and format of General Rate Case filings for the large California energy utilities.  The third workshop involved exploring reasonable ways to make the Results of Operations (RO) models for the four large California utilities more uniform and user-friendly.  Workshop Agenda, Report, and Presentations are available at the links below:

 

Workshop #4 - February 9, 2021 

Standardization of RAMP Filings

Energy Division hosted the fourth in a series of workshops to explore standardizing the organization and format of General Rate Case (GRC) and Risk Assessment Mitigation Phase (RAMP) filings for the large California energy utilities. The workshops were ordered in Decision (D.) 20-01-002, which modified the Commission's Rate Case Plan (RCP) for

large energy utilities. The objective of the workshops is to further explore and develop proposals to increase the efficiency of GRC proceedings. The scope of the fourth workshop was to better integrate the RAMP into the GRC and the Risk Spending Accountability Report (RSAR) as well as standardize the organization and format of GRC and RAMP filings.
