California LifeLine Program
California LifeLine provides discounted home phone and cell phone services to qualified households.
California LifeLine Home Broadband Pilot Update:
The Commission recently approved Decision 25-08-050, which will provide up to $20 per month for standalone broadband and up to $30 per month for bundled broadband and voice. For current LifeLine providers who wish to participate in the pilot, we encourage you to file an Advice Letter (please refer to D.25-08-050 for advice letter requirements). For non-LifeLine providers registered with the CPUC who wish to participate, we encourage you to file an advice letter requesting to become a LifeLine provider and include the requirements established in D.25-08-05. Staff will issue a resolution outlining a process for providers who do not have a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) or a Wireless ID Registration (WIR).
California LifeLine was established by the Commission in compliance with the Moore Universal Telephone Service, Public Utilities Code § 871 providing discounted basic residential (landline) telephone services to low-income households.
